1987 first year Jem 777SK Steve Vai designed Ibanez
A 1970 /71 Gibson Les Paul. Candy Purple / machine gray sunburst - Cherry back. The inlay up the neck was done in ivory and it's got a Floyd on it which I wish I hadn't of done, but . . . too late now, as they say.
Originally this was a 68 Strat (serial 233260) that I got from Les Scarborough, who was playing with Alicia Bridges at the time (I Love The Nightlife, I love to Boogie), but as you can see it doesn't much look like one now. Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck pickups, mother of pearl inlay. The neck is the original strat neck with the headstock reshaped by me and a sabre saw. Yes! Very wrong, I know.
My Hendrix influenced Strat, the knobs get totally in the way of playing and I don't know how Jimi did it but, he sure did it well. Black Onnyx inlay and Seymours'.
When I started playing with the Western Sizzlers I had to get into character and add some twang. Charlie Starr from Blackberry Smoke is playing on most of the album and I needed this with the B-Bender bridge to play his parts, as he is back touring non-stop with BBS. I really love this guitar a lot more than I thought I ever would, and I always liked the B-Bender but wasn't playing the type music that called for it. This one has Seymour Duncan Hotrails and a 5 position switch.
Fellow Atlantan and friend Grover Jackson took me through his plant in L.A. where we were both living at the time and gave me a super tour of the place. This is a custom Soloist with a floyd Rose, 2 (Seymours Duncans) and the pickguard was added along with an out of phase switch. The neck feels great. Very Gibson feeling.
This is a Baby Sista to my Jem and the Jem's backup. The pickups and wiring were changed to mirror the 87' Jem exactly. And, it's quite pretty.
A buddy of mine who has passed at an early age of 41 gave me this electric 12 string. He knew he was dying and wanted to give me something. He also had the Red flame Rickenbacker 12 like George Harrison and Tom Petty have made famous, but, I couldn't talk him out of that one. lol He is also the one who refinished my Les Paul and we built my Harley together. He was a musician who owned a Harley shop. You don't get any cooler than that.
Thx Rob
Dean 12 string Tiger Eye Acoustic.
Ibanez acoustic my buddy Michael Bryant gave me.
This Hofner 500/1 Beatle Bass is about 50 years old and still has not a scratch on it. It's about the only thing I have that doesn't. lol This is a great bass for a guitar player. The neck is small. Love it.
B.C. Rich Warlock Platinum Series Bass. Sounds good, been recording a bit with it.
I have and Ovation Applause 6 string and an Epiphone/ Gibson 6 string acoustic as well and of course there's this one . . .
My newest addition is this Vox Phantom IV. I've always liked the body eventhough they are kind of hard to play like a flying V or an ovation they want to slide off your lap. I can only remember Fang of Paul Revere and the Raiders playing one of these (Bass Model).
Joe Pass model Epiphone - When I saw it I thought it looked a lot like the Byrdland without the Byrdland price. Plays great.
Sheng Ukulele
love it better than any I've seen. Made of Rosewood.
