Producer Paul Sabu joins Secretz in Producing an EP with lots of interest from film makers to use songs in a movie similar to Rocky Horror Picture Show. Results...... a great recording but...... the film deal did not materialize, just as the video for one of the songs produced by MTV did not. Next? an album recorded by Legendary English producer Geoff Workman (23 Platiinum credits) at the infamous Cherokee studios in Hollywood (exec. prod. Darrahl Foley). Another great recording but, through the use of one of Hollywoods infamous Entertainment Lawyers this too would never be released. IN 1989 Secretz did hear 4 of their songs on the big screen in the production of "Fast Food" starring Jim Varney and Traci Lords. This movie is shown Internationally to this day on HBO, Showtime, TMC, and. It's on "On Demand."

Ballad time for Stars n Bars @ the Troubador

Keeping the South alive while in Hollywood!

In the end, Stars n Bars evolved to a 3 piece and changed the name to POWERLINE (to be more politically correct and to change with the times ).  As much as I loved the flag we were named after, it wasn't a race thing for us, it was the Rebel thing.  We wouldn't want anyone to think we were racist because nothing could be farther from the truth, so POWERLINE was born.  And Nicky takes over lead vocals and,.........on the way we had an original tune placed on Compilation #4 "Best Unsigned L.A. Bands" CD on Rock City Records. And, were fortunate enough to have MTV's Series "Live Through This" producers ask if they could use this same song "What You Give To Me" in espisode #11 of their series. NEXT........... Hollywood South (Atlanta) . . . after relocating from Los Angeles to the ATL everything has changed but . . . Powerline is still rockin'. Check us out on the Powerline Global website (Link below).   Nicky Ford, Gary Gilbert and Dave Bowersock . . .POWERLINE

Sometime between Stars N Bars and Powerline I was recruited to do a CD with the"Riff Rockers" called "Pop's Got the Blues." Catchy title.  The line up includes veteran rockers Roger Romeo on guitar and lead Vocals, and Jeff Poole on drums from the infamous Legs Diamond hard rock band. (Jeff had also been long time drummer for Secretz too) It also includes Nicky Ford on keyboards & guitar from Atlanta and Teddy Kaye rounding out the bottom on bass from Los Angeles. We did shows around Los Angeles  and Malibu.

Me and some of my buddies were in a made for Playboy movie called "Forbidden Highway" staring Kira Reed. We've got our Harley's in it, and of course the bar room brawl was fun. Check it out, or even buy a copy at this link.

My newest project aside from Powerline is a band called the Western Sizzlers.  Featuring Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), Rick Richards (Ga. Satellites), Kevin Jennings, Jeff Bakos, Snit Fitzpatrick (Secretz, Snits' Dog & Pony Show), Toby Marriott (Son of Steve Marriott) and Nicky Ford.
The album "For Ol' Times Sake" has just been released in Europe as well as the states.
The second album is out now "1-4-5-GO" on the Roar Hide Record Label.
